Interesting cardiac cases

Cardiac Imaging was one of the ‘rocket science’ areas of Radiology, until recently. However, with recent advances in knowledge in this field compiled with better, newer generation MRI and CT scanners, it is now playing a greater role in diagnosis and management of Cardiac patients.

Manipal Hospitals Radiology Group has organized a CME on “Interesting cardiac cases” at CManipal Hospitals, Yeshwanthpur. The CME provided a wide array of patient scenarios where Cardiac MRI was useful in critical situations and plays a decisive role in patient management. It can even guide surgical versus non-surgical option for cardiac patients. Another use of Cardiac CT and MRI is in the management of infants and kids with congenital heart disease before surgery.

Dr. Deepali Saxena, Lead Cardiac Imaging-Manipal Hospitals, was the speaker of the CME. It was attended by radiologists and also the DNB students of MHRG.
