Cardiac MRI in Hypertrophic, Restrictive and Dilated Cardiomyopathy

Manipal Hospitals Radiology Group conducted a CME on Cardiac MRI in Hypertrophic, Restrictive and Dilated Cardiomyopathy at Columbia Asia Hospitals, Yeshwanthpur on 28th Feb 2020.

Dr. Deepali Saxena was the speaker at the CME. It was attended by the radiologists and DNB PG students of CARG.

In the last decade, Cardiac MRI has emerged as an established tool for diagnosing and accurately quantifying heart disease. In this presentation, the focus was on the use of Cardiac MRI in diagnosing multiple etiologies of cardiomyopathies. Its utility in quantifying heart disease without the need for invasive tests and use as a prognostic tool for follow-up of these patients was emphasized. In the future, with rapid advancements in technology and a reduction in scan times, Cardiac MRI could be the key to managing such patients.
