An overview of fungal and pyogenic infections
Manipal Hospitals Radiology Group has conducted a CME on 26th December 2019 at Columbia Asia Hospitals, Yeshwanthpur as a part of its monthly academic initiative. It was attended by the radiologists and Post Graduate students of CAH.
An overview of pyogenic infections was covered by Dr. Harsha Chadaga, Head of Radiology over 25 mins touching on etiology, clinical features, imaging findings and complications. This was followed by a talk on CNS fungal infections by Dr. Sriram Patwari. Imaging pearls to help the radiologist to make the correct diagnosis and aid clinicians in treatment was outlined.
Dr. Sriram Patwari also spoke about how to differentiate using various radiological clues between pyogenic, fungal and Tuberculous abscesses.
